TechSmart Companies was born in 2010 to oversee the operations of several website development companies. TechSmart Companies' owner, Dr. Steve Endress, endeavored to capitalize on the ease and functionality of the Joomla CMS and hoped to introduce small-scale clients to the possibility of managing their own websites.
Dr. Endress holds two masters degrees and a doctorate in Educational Administration. Having worked as technology coordinator for a school district before moving into principal and superintendent positions, Dr. Endress understands the technological challenges the average person faces.
In response, he pushes his companies in a direction to empower the average user to manage and extend the capabilities of their own websites. He says, "I hated it when companies would try to get me to purchase their services plans when they could easily have taught me the few skills I needed to operate their product. I truly believe that we should work smarter and not harder. To me, that means teaching our clients, rather than protecting self-interests by hiding behind service plans."
